The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon have qualified for the next round of the ongoing African cup of Nations after trashing the Walliards of Ethiopia 4-1 in their second group A game at the Olembe stadium in Yaounde.
The match which started off with both teams fully charged saw the Ethiopians net in the first goal just five minutes into play but this didn't discourage the Lions who made several attempts at a comeback and soon equalized with Toko Ekambi's header. Both teams separated on a 1-1 draw at halftime.
The second half was more action packed with the Lions teaching the Walliards a lesson in football.
Just 8 minutes into the second half, the Lions took the lead with Vincent Aboubakar's goal curtsy of an assist from Fai Collins. Just before the joy of the Cameroonian fans could be extinguished, Captain Aboubakar again netted in another goal, scoring a brace within a two minute interval further diminishing Ethiopia's hopes of equalizing.
Toko Ekambi came back at the 67th minute with a brace to seal the deal for the Lions. The scores remained unchanged and the match ended with the Indomitable Lions whitewashing the Walliards 4-1.
Cameroon becomes the first team to record more than three goals in a single game in the 2021 African Cup of Nations. The Lions now top group A with 6 points and 6 goals
