The Super Eagles of Nigeria have conquered the Pharoahs of Egypt 1-0 Jan 11 at the ongoing Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
The match which took place at the Roumde Adja Stadium in Garoua started with the Egyptians dominating the first minutes of the match but missed an opportunity to score at the 27th minute.
The Eagles took advantage of the setback and at the 30th minute, Kelechi Iheanacho gave Nigeria the lead with a brilliant shot into the the top right corner of the goal post.
At halftime, the scores were 1-0 in favour of Nigeria.
The second half of the game was rather slow for the Egyptian side despite Mohammed Salah making an attempt to equalize which was twarted by Maduka Okoye.
The Nigerians mounted a stiff defense and all efforts by the Egyptians to equalize proved futile till the end of the match.
Presently, Nigeria temporarily tops group D with 3 points.
I believe so much in the Egyptian King Mohamed Salah...he will single handle the next openent, it was indeed a difficult game
